Wood duck

In my personal opinion, wood ducks are probably Michigan’s most beautiful native bird, and that’s coming from someone who thinks that every bird is a stunner. So it makes sense that wood ducklings are almost unfairly adorable en route to being breathtaking adults. You can’t see them all here, but there were four young ducklings and another slightly older quartet nearby, all being supervised by two females - a veritable wood duck elementary school.
